Tomi is Topsort’s AI agent for retail media ad operations, and the first release in Topsort’s broader suite of AI features. It lets retail admins create and manage ad campaigns using natural language instead of configuring campaigns manually.
Tomi is available in the sidebar of the Marketplace Admin view and supports any language.

The Problem Tomi Solves

As retail media programs grow, teams are expected to support more advertisers, more campaigns, and more complexity without proportional headcount growth. Manual campaign setup requires configuring products, budgets, dates, targeting rules, and placements for every campaign, which creates bottlenecks and limits how fast teams can operate.

What Tomi Does

Tomi turns campaign setup and management into a conversational workflow. Users describe what they want in plain language, Tomi generates a campaign configuration using marketplace data, and the user reviews and approves it before anything goes live.
The first capability Tomi supports is creating and managing onsite Sponsored Listings campaigns. Support for additional ad formats and workflows will follow.

Campaign Management

Create, view, update, pause, and resume Sponsored Listings campaigns through natural language.

Product Promotion

Identify top-performing products, promote by keyword or category, target competitor pages, and run always-on promotions.

Audience Targeting

Target loyal or high-value customer segments, exclude recent purchasers, or boost specific audiences.

Analytics & Insights

Identify best-performing products, understand category trends, and analyze purchase behavior.
Forecasting (Coming Soon): Tomi will support predicting campaign performance before launch, so teams can create campaigns only when projected ROAS meets a target threshold.

Key Benefits

1

Launch campaigns faster

Instead of manually filling out every field, users start with a simple prompt and Tomi handles the setup.
2

Make better decisions with marketplace data

Tomi uses product performance, category trends, and marketplace signals to help identify what to promote and when.
3

Manage more campaigns with less overhead

Teams can create, update, and optimize campaigns across more vendors through a single conversational interface, without rebuilding from scratch each time.
4

Stay in control

Tomi generates the configuration, but users review and approve campaigns before anything goes live. Nothing launches without human sign-off.

Getting Started

Accessing Tomi

Tomi is available directly within the Marketplace Admin view. Look for the Tomi entry in the sidebar to open the chat interface. No separate login or configuration is required.

Prerequisites

  • Marketplace Admin access
  • At least one active vendor with products in the catalog
  • Tomi enabled for your marketplace (contact your Topsort account team if you don’t see it in your sidebar)

How It Works

1

Describe your goal

Type what you want to accomplish in plain language. You can be as specific or as general as you like. Tomi will ask clarifying questions if it needs more information.
2

Review Tomi's proposal

Tomi generates a campaign configuration or action based on your request and marketplace data. Review the proposed setup before committing.
3

Approve and launch

Confirm the action. Campaigns are only created or modified after your explicit approval.

Clarifying Questions

Depending on your request, Tomi may ask follow-up questions to fill in missing details. Some examples:
  • Where should ads appear? Specific keywords, product categories, competitor product pages, or everywhere (always-on).
  • Vendor scope: If the selected products span multiple vendors, Tomi will confirm whether to create separate campaigns per vendor.
  • Budget and duration: If not specified in your prompt, Tomi will ask for the campaign budget and run dates.

Use Cases

Creating Campaigns

Create a campaign from top-performing SKUs in a category

1

Ask Tomi for top SKUs

Prompt: “What are the top 10 performing SKUs in the gear category?”Tomi will return a list of products ranked by performance.
2

Request campaign creation

Prompt: “Create a campaign for these products with a $10k budget running for the next two weeks.”
3

Select ad placement

Tomi will ask where the ads should appear: specific keywords, product categories, competitor product pages, or everywhere (always-on).
4

Review and approve

Tomi presents the proposed campaign configuration. Review and confirm to launch.
If the selected SKUs span multiple vendors, Tomi will suggest creating a separate campaign per vendor and confirm before proceeding.

Boost underpromoted products

1

Find underpromoted SKUs

Prompt: “Find products with high conversion rates but low impression counts.”Tomi will surface products with strong purchase intent signals but limited ad visibility.
2

Create a visibility campaign

Prompt: “Create a campaign for these products with a $5k budget for the next 30 days.”
3

Select placement and approve

Choose where ads should appear and confirm the campaign configuration.

Create a campaign with forecast validation

1

Request a forecast

Prompt: “Forecast performance for a campaign promoting our top home appliance SKUs for [vendor name] with a $10k budget over the next 30 days.”Tomi will return projected metrics including estimated ROAS, impressions, and spend.
2

Conditionally create the campaign

Prompt: “Create the campaign if projected ROAS is above 4.”If the forecast meets the threshold, Tomi will proceed to campaign creation. If not, it will report back with the projected performance and wait for further instruction.

Managing Existing Campaigns

Pause underperforming campaigns

1

Identify underperformers

Prompt: “What are my four most underperforming campaigns?”Tomi will rank campaigns by performance and return the weakest ones.
2

Pause them

Prompt: “Pause those campaigns.”Tomi will confirm before making any changes.

Extend a campaign

1

Request the extension

Prompt: “Please extend [campaign name] by one month.”Tomi will confirm the new end date before applying the change.

Analytics and Insights

Tomi can surface insights from your marketplace data:
  • “Which products perform best in ads across all vendors?”
  • “What are the top categories by ad revenue this month?”
  • “Analyze purchase behavior for the sports category.”
