Catalog Health helps marketplace admins identify product data issues that may affect advertising performance. Open Catalog in the Admin Dashboard and select the Catalog Health tab. Catalog Health shows:
  • Total product count
  • Live product count
  • An overall health score
  • An overall Healthy, Warning, or Critical grade
  • Health across four dimensions: Completeness, Structural integrity, Informativeness, and Freshness
Select any dimension to see the individual metrics contributing to its health.

Completeness

Completeness identifies missing product information. Metrics include:
  • Brand missing
  • No description
  • No image URL
  • No marketplace link
  • Price absent or zero
  • No EAN (GTIN)

Structural integrity

Structural integrity identifies broken relationships in the catalog. Metrics include:
  • Category reference error rate: Failed category references divided by all category references. This is a feed-level error rate and does not represent the percentage of products missing from category pages.
  • Unresolved vendor references: Vendor entries that do not match a known vendor.

Informativeness

Informativeness identifies product content that may not provide enough useful information. Metrics include:
  • Description equals name
  • Name shorter than 10 characters
  • Placeholder name
  • Markup in description

Freshness

Freshness identifies products and feeds that may be out of date. Metrics include:
  • Not updated in 180 days
  • Not updated in 365 days
  • Days since any live product was last updated

Scores and grades

Each health dimension has a score from 0.00 to 1.00, where 1.00 represents the healthiest state. Catalog Health also shows an overall health score. Metrics, dimensions, and the overall catalog are assigned a color-coded grade of Healthy, Warning, or Critical so users can quickly identify where attention is needed. Catalog Health is automatically available to all Topsort clients.
