Data Genie gives you flexible ways to analyze your Topsort data, from AI-powered reporting in the marketplace to direct access through Snowflake. Choose the option that best fits how your team works:
  • Data Genie UI: Build reports, explore data, and ask questions using AI directly in Analytics > Data Lab.
  • Datasource connection: Access your Topsort data through Snowflake for custom analysis, ETL workflows, or use with your existing BI tools.

Available data

Data Genie provides access to the following Topsort datasets. These datasets are available both when building reports in the Data Genie UI and when querying your data through the Snowflake datasource connection. The fields available within each dataset include metrics and dimensions that can be combined when building reports. In the Data Genie UI, Data Genie handles the relationships between datasets automatically, so users do not need to manually construct joins.

Option 1. Data Genie UI

Data Genie is Topsort’s analytics experience for building reports and exploring marketplace data. You can access Data Genie in the marketplace under Analytics > Data Lab.
  • AI-powered analysis: Ask questions in natural language and use the AI agent to answer questions or generate reports from available data.
  • Simpler report building: Select the metrics and dimensions you want. Data Genie handles the underlying relationships between the data, so users do not need to understand table joins.
  • Personal and shared dashboards: Dashboards are personal by default and can be shared with other users in the marketplace when needed.

Option 2. Via Datasource Connection

You can access the same data that powers Data Genie directly through Snowflake. This lets you connect Topsort data to your existing data lake, create custom ETL reports, combine Topsort data with other sources, or continue using your preferred business intelligence tool. After Topsort creates your Snowflake account, you can connect using the credentials provided. For additional guidance, see: If you already have your own Snowflake account, Topsort can share your data directly to it using Snowflake Secure Data Sharing, so you do not need a separate Topsort-provided account. This option is available for enterprise customers and may involve an additional cost. Contact your Topsort representative to enable it.
